Synopsis:
In Firedrake the Silver Dragon despite traditional dragon myths involving Vikings and dragon slayers, this one includes the internet and videoconferencing. Based on Cornelia Funke's novel Dragon Rider, Firedrake the Silver Dragon tells the narrative of a young dragon named Firedrake. Who forces himself to new heights in order to preserve his dragon village from human ruin.
He demonstrates bravery as he journeys with his best buddy, Sorrell, another mythological creature, in pursuit of a land wherein dragons and beasts can wander freely. When the two unite forces with a human, the gang must learn to put aside their assumptions and trust one another in the face of peril. Nettlebrand, a dragon-eating metal monster that wants to taste a silver dragon, poses a moderate threat.
Subisha Gulab (Meera Syal), a knowledgeable and charming woman, adds a nice mix of humour and wisdom along the journey. Although the plot of Firedrake the Silver Dragon has elements of past dragon movies, this one is told from the viewpoint of a dragon in contemporary society, thus it stands on its own. However, small children who enjoy dragons will probably find it enjoyable.
Viewers get to experience what it's like from the dragon's point of view when their habitat is in danger from people. A young dragon named Firedrake (voiced by Thomas Brodie-Sangster) musters the bravery to travel there. After learning about a legendary paradise where dragons can dwell in harmony. Who grudgingly agrees to his plan to recruit the aid of Freddie Highmore. A human who Firedrake believes to be a true dragon rider.
The teachings in Firedrake the Silver Dragon are uplifting and inspiring.
The movie does a good job of capturing the excitement and adventure of the novel. And it's an entertaining animated adventure that should win over aficionados of dragons.
