Synopsis:
The Devil Below is a horror film. 5 researchers who go hunting for a vanished village and instead discover a horrible secret. In The Devil Below characters will be clobbered, taken away, and occasionally murdered as a result of monster brutality.
Guns, knives, grenades, and a flamethrower are among the weapons. There are bleeding wounds, bloody faces, jump scares, and other unsettling elements.
Darren is out to find out what's still on blaze deep down, but Shawn, a geologist with a "intelligent design" bent, believes this shuttered mine was a government Cold War project connected to something the Russians discovered when they delved too far down. They avoid enraged townspeople, discover the entrance, and unlock Pandora's mining shaft. That is when Hell is unleashed on Earth.
"The Devil Below" is at its finest when our soon-to-be-shrinking quintet is on the run, trying to figure out who or what is after them and if the locals are there to aid or make matters worse.
The Devil Belolw film below is one of those where I enjoy the premise and idea more than the end product.
This horror film is badly filmed, poorly scripted, and too gloomy. With little suspense and people we don't care about – but the creatures are rather awesome. It takes a long to get going, offers some cheap efforts at fright and thrills. And concludes without seeming to accomplish anything.
